Earl Creps has spent years on the road studying the culture and outreach strategies of leaders and congregations attempting to connect with emerging culture. He brings to this research a background as a pastor, having led three churches (one Boomer, one Builder, and one Gen X), a consultant, having served as his denomination’s national Adult Ministries Consultant, and an educator, teaching on mission in emerging culture for the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri, where he spent 6 and a half years directing doctoral studies. Along the way, Earl earned a Ph.D. in Communication Studies(Northwestern University) and a Doctor of Ministry in Pentecostal Leadership (AGTS).
Today, he and his wife Janet are developing a church planting project in Berkeley, California under appointment from AoG US Missions and the Northern California-Nevada District. Earl is the author of numerous articles, anthology chapters, and adult study courses, as well as a speaker for conferences, retreats and universities. His book, Off-Road Disciplines: Spiritual Adventures of Missional Leaders was published by Jossey-Bass/Leadership Network in October 2006.
SPEAKING & CONSULTING:
I travel to speak at conferences, churches, colleges, etc. I also do consulting with church and parachurch organizations on issues ranging from strategic planning to leadership training and development to generational harmony. I think of a consultant as something like a Spiritual Director for your organization.
